Project Description
Alongside the greenhouse gas emission reduction pathway targeted by the Philippines’ Nationally Determined Contribution to the Paris climate agreement, the Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) has updated in July 2017 a 2017-2040 Energy Efficiency & Conservation Roadmap which targets a ramp-up of energy efficiency policy and market interventions across the various end-use sectors of the economy toward an 10,000 ktoe annual energy savings target by 2040.
The Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2) convened private- and public-sector energy efficiency market stakeholder entities in April 2016 as a non-stock, non-profit civil society organization, building on the 11-year history of the Energy Service Companies Association of the Philippines (ESCOPhil) established in May 2005 with DOE support, and its successor, the Philippine Association of Energy Service Companies.
